Yangxian Gongfu Red Tea
Yangxian was the name of the area in today’s Yixing during the Qin/Han Dynasty. Yangxian Gongfu red tea is produced in high mountains and where tea trees sprout lots of golden tips, giving its tea a fresh and rich taste. Yixing is famous for its purple clay pots. It is said that the first person who drank Yangxian (Yixing) red tea was the potter who burned the purple clay pots. The Yangxian red tea body is thick, easy to hang, and the tea is affordable, making it a popular choice for people to use it to upkeep the pots.
